Poems address everything from nature to beauty of a spring day to complex social issues. Poetry is a language used to express thoughts, feelings, ideas and perspectives. Studying poetry helps students to expand their oral and written vocabularies. Reading and writing poetry also helps students to become more aware of the ways in which language can be used .To experience this, Class - I held a Talent Hunt on Poem recitation .The Prelims were held on 28th October 2013 which was followed by the finals on November 5th 2013. The children beautifully recited poems by William Worth worth, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Rabindranath Tagore etc. As the students heard the powerful, thought provoking and beautiful poems, they gained a greater understanding not only of literature and language but also of themselves and the world they live in.
